Step by step

1. Export the set from Quizlet

Open the set, choose Export, and copy the text. Keep the default separators or set your own: the converter detects tabs, commas, semicolons and pipes, and it recognizes the blank line Quizlet puts between cards.

2. Check what we detected

The preview shows the first cards and the count. If Quizlet used a custom separator, pick it above and the preview updates instantly.

3. Map the two sides, and anything extra

Quizlet exports the term first and the definition second, so column 1 becomes Front and column 2 becomes Back. Swap them if you want to be tested the other way, and send a third column to Example, Notes or Tags instead of losing it.

4. Download and import

Download the .apkg and double-click it. The set arrives as a real Anki deck with a note type and native tags, so Anki never has to ask you to map fields.

When the import looks wrong

Every card became one long line

Quizlet was set to separate cards with a new line, not a blank line. Switch Card separator to New line.

Definitions ended up on the front

Quizlet exports term first. Swap the roles in the column mapping: set column 1 to Back and column 2 to Front.

Images did not come across

Quizlet's text export contains no images. Only the text of each card can be converted.

Special characters look broken

Paste the text rather than uploading a file saved in a non-UTF-8 encoding.

Does this work with Quizlet Plus sets?

Yes, the converter reads the exported text, not your Quizlet account, so any set you can export works.

Do I need a Quizlet or Anki account?

Neither. The converter runs in the browser and hands you a file.

Which separators does Quizlet use?

By default a tab between term and definition and a blank line between cards, but the export dialog lets you change both, and the converter follows whatever you chose.

Can I convert several sets at once?

Convert them one at a time, or paste them one after another into the same box and get a single deck.

Can I get pronunciation audio on the converted cards?

Not from the converted set: a Quizlet text export carries words, not sound, and this converter only changes the format of what you paste. If you want the deck to speak, generate it instead: the Anki generator writes the same vocabulary with a neural voice for every card and packs the mp3 files inside the .apkg, so the cards keep speaking in Anki with no add-on.

Why does the deck import so much more cleanly than a CSV?

Because an .apkg carries the note type. A CSV is only rows, so Anki has to ask which column is which every time and guesses the rest. The converter writes the note type, the field names and the tags into the package, which is why the deck opens already structured.

Will my study progress transfer?

No. Exports carry the cards only, so the deck starts fresh in Anki, which is usually what you want since the scheduling models differ.

Can I go the other way, Anki to Quizlet?

Not with this tool. Copy the cards as text from a generated deck and paste them into Quizlet's import box instead.
