Which converter do you need
You exported a set from Quizlet
Use the Quizlet to Anki converter. Quizlet's export dialog lets you pick the separators, and a set exported with the defaults puts a tab between the two sides and a blank line between cards, which trips up generic CSV tools.
You keep vocabulary in a spreadsheet
Use CSV to Anki or CSV to Mochi depending on where you study. Both read whatever delimiter your spreadsheet produced and let you send extra columns to Example, Notes or Tags rather than losing them.
Your list lives in a note, a chat or a handout
Use Text to Anki. Paste the lines as they are, tell it which side is the question, and it builds the deck without a spreadsheet in between.
You are moving from Anki to Mochi
Use Anki to Mochi. It opens the .apkg in your browser and shows the deck's real field names, so a three-field note type does not have to become a guess.

The formats, briefly
What an .apkg file actually is
A zip holding a SQLite database of notes, cards and the note type that renders them, plus any media. That is why a plain CSV never imports as cleanly: it carries no note type, so Anki has to ask you to map fields every time. Our converters write the note type for you.
What a .mochi file actually is
A zip with a data.edn file describing decks and cards, where the front and the back of a card are separated by three dashes and rendered as Markdown. It is a much simpler format than Anki's, which is why extra fields have to be folded into the card back.
Why CSV imports break
Three reasons, in order of frequency: the delimiter is not what the importing app assumed, a comma inside a sentence splits a cell that was never quoted, and a header row is imported as a card. Every converter here previews the parsed cards before you download anything, so you catch all three in the browser rather than in your collection.

Are these converters really free?
Yes. No account, no credits, no card limit beyond what a browser tab can comfortably handle. They run entirely on your machine, so they cost us nothing per conversion.
Do you see my files?
No. Parsing, packaging and downloading all happen in the page. Nothing is sent to a server, and nothing is stored.
Which format should I pick for a new deck?
If you study in Anki, .apkg, because it carries the note type and field structure. If you study in Mochi, .mochi. If you use Quizlet or Brainscape, neither: both import pasted text directly.
Can Mochi open an Anki deck directly?
Mochi can import .apkg files, and it works for simple decks. Converting first gives you control over which Anki field becomes the front and which becomes the back, which matters for note types with more than two fields.
What is the difference between these tools and the generator?
